About the game Reversi Multiplayer

Reversi (also called Othello) is a little-known board game for two in Poland. If you haven't heard of it yet and you like an exciting yet thought-provoking gameplay, be sure to give it a try. Are you afraid that you won't find another person willing to play together? It doesn't matter, the game will choose a companion for you to face online. You can also play with artificial intelligence by choosing one of three difficulty levels.

Reversi is played on an eight-by-eight board (similar to chess or checkers). One player gets white pawns, the other - black. The game begins when there are two white and two black pieces in the middle of the board. The first move is made by the player who controls the black pieces.

The object of the game is to capture the opponent's pieces. This is done by jumping over them. Then they change the color to the one assigned to us. Each turn, we must make a move that will allow us to do so. If we find ourselves in such a position that we cannot do this, then we lose the turn and pass the baton to the opponent. In the end, the player with the most pawns at the end wins. So every turn lost can be the one that decides our defeat. We have to plan our next moves in such a way that this does not happen and that we take over one of the opponent's pawns in each turn.

Reversi is a game known since the end of the 18th century, but it started to gain popularity in Europe only in the middle of the 19th century. Various tournaments have been held for several decades, including even the world championships (the first took place in 1977 in Tokyo). Most often, the Japanese triumph in them, but a Pole, Miłosz Cupiał, who in 2009 became the European champion in othello, also had his five minutes.
