Rules for the game of ships
A long rainy afternoon, all the books from the home library have been read, and you have no ideas for your next activities with your younger sister or brother? It's time to use a special weapon - thanks to it, boredom will end, and in return you will get excitement and blush on your faces!
What's more, you do not need fancy toys or any expensive equipment for this - cards and something to write or an alternative in the form of internet access in combination with electronic equipment (computer or mobile device) are enough here. What, do you want to learn the rules of the game of ships to say goodbye to apathy once and for all?
The main advantage of the game of ships is its incredible simplicity - even several-year-old children who have already learned the letters and numbers will understand the rules in no time and will have a great time. Another plus is the fact that you can make your time in this way regardless of where you are - for example, on a mountain campsite, while driving a train, while lounging on the beach or during a break at school / university / work.
When it comes to the analog edition, the fun should start with drawing the game board (unless you have a special notebook intended for this purpose, which will speed up and facilitate the preparation process). In the classic version, it must be 10 × 10, it is best to describe the rows with numbers from 1 to 10 and columns with letters from A to J. You also need two players - if you spend time alone, you can easily find someone willing to compete on the Internet.
The next stage in the rules of the game of ships is to strategically place all your ships on the board. As a rule, you have 1 four-mast (4 trellis), 2 three-mast (3 trellis), 3 two-mast (2 trellis) and 4 single-masts (one trellis) at your disposal. The larger ones can have any orientation - vertical, horizontal or, for example, in the letter L. The rule says that they cannot touch other ships at any point - not even at the corners. Where your fleet is stationed is extremely valuable and secret information, so protect it from your opponent by positioning the page in such a way that he cannot discover the secret.
Determine the order in which to play the game - think of an interesting rule (e.g. the last one to see the ship starts!) Or randomly select it. From now on, things start to get serious - each turn you have to choose the location of the enemy ship, and your goal is to sink everything to one. It looks like this: if it's your turn, start by choosing anywhere on the board. If you hit a ship, your opponent is required to say "hit". In the case of a single mast, it is automatically "hit, sunk", and if you are dealing with a larger element - "hit, not sunk". In either case, you have the option of continuing to fire at your opponent's territory until you aim at an empty space and say "miss".
When it is your opponent's turn, you must inform him of the effectiveness of your shots. When playing the analog version, use the coordinates of places, that is simplified latitudes and longitudes - eg "J5" or "G7". Thanks to this, you can easily determine what field is meant.
It is a good practice to mark all the boxes around already sunken masters - this way you will avoid re-aiming at a place where there can be no more ships, and thus wasting ammunition and potential. So, if you've discovered an entire ship and plunged it into the depths of the sea, surround it with dots to know where you should definitely not send your missiles to.
The game continues until one player sinks all enemy ships - the other player has no room for maneuver then. Especially at the end, when the boards are getting tighter, the atmosphere can be really dense and the whole thing very exciting! Find out about it the hard way.
